About Me

Elizabeth Bahar, has served in Huntsville, AL at Temple B’nai Sholom since being ordained in 2009 from HUC-JIR in Cincinnati. Prior to that she attend Brandeis University graduating with a degree in Philosophy and a minor in both Women’s Studies and Jewish Studies. While in Huntsville she has served on various boards including the Southeast Area Region of the Central Conference of American Rabbis, Federation of North Alabama, Interfaith Mission Services and the Southeast Clergy Association of Huntsville. She has received the Rabbi Jeffery L. Ballon Interfaith Leadership Award from Interfaith Mission Service. She was recently named as one of 33 inspirational rabbis in the country by the Jewish Daily Forward. She has won the Joanie Pious Bayer Young Leadership Award from the Birmingham Jewish Foundation. Her interests include biblical archaeology, Jewish Law, Mussar Texts, prophetic literature and rabbinic literature. Elizabeth Bahar and her husband Uzi Bahar have three children Aiden, David and Daniel.
